Giro Internacional

This service lets you send money to international destinations.

A service used to pay people or organisations in towns in the countries where Correos has established an agreement, guaranteeing the amount sent, without any withholding from the recipient, taking into account the restrictions of each country regarding types and forms of payment.

Delivery times: 

• Zone 1 Electronic Giro or Eurogiro: 4 to 6 working days.
• IFS Giro (Urgent International Postal Giro): In 15 minutes following acceptance, depending on the time zone.

Scope:

Giros can be sent using the following channels:

• Zone 1 Electronic (Eurogiro): faster delivery. The following countries provide this service: Albania, Germany, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cape Verde, Slovenia, France, the Philippines, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Morocco, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Senegal, Serbia and Montenegro, Switzerland, Turkey, Thailand and Ukraine.

• UPU Electronic IFS Giro (immediate availability): delivery within a few minutes to offices in Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, Morocco, Portugal, Peru, Colombia, Cuba and Moldavia.  Check the offices where this service is provided.

Type of payment:

• Cash.
• Cheque.

Amounts paid in giros:

The nominal maximum amount per money order (giro) depends on the destination country.

Also, the maximum amount to be sent by giro to each person can not exceed €2,499.99 or the equivalent in the foreign currency.

• The giro can be sent with a private communication of 140 characters.
